Does spiritual /energy healing really work?

Does spiritual/energy
healing really work?

Many years ago, when I started on my healing journey, having completed my 2 years formal training I called to see local doctors to share my enthusiasm and to see if they would refer patients to me when appropriate.

As you can imagine, back in the early 1980’s they did not share my enthusiasm!

The most common comment they all made was “How do you know it works?”

Initially I got bogged down talking about energy and the chakras and most of them, with a glazed look in their eyes, politely showed me out.

I then tried a different approach -so when they asked, “How do you know it works?” my simple reply was “They get better”!

This at least piqued their interest and some eventually started referring patients.

I then approached some of the local hospitals offering to run a Guided Meditation & Relaxation circle for nurses and doctors during their lunch hour in a room at the hospital.

This started slowly but within a few months become really popular with many of the nurses and doctors deciding to skip their lunch in order to participate.

The guided meditation helped them switch off from the stress and pressure of everyday work, and then myself and other trained healers simply went around to each attendee, putting our hands on their shoulders and we channeling energy into them for just 2 or 3 minutes. As we had several healers, each nurse and doctor received healing from a number of trained healers.

Many fell asleep in their chairs during the session which is always a positive sign!

This gave me the opportunity of answering their questions and gently introducing the words “energy healing” or “spiritual healing” and taking away all of the mystery and potential antagonism.

Many of the nurses and a couple of doctors then decided to attend our workshops, learning the skills to be able to help their patients with a more holistic approach, alongside conventional medicine.

Over the years, both in England and in the U.S. I have seen some amazing changes in people as a result of receiving this type of healing - it seems to reach a deep level and help get to the cause - bringing balance and harmony and a deeper understanding of why we experience certain illnesses and what we learn from them.

Fortunately, science and spirituality have “melded” and there is considerable information and data about the efficacy of spiritual/energy healing.

Television channels such as GIA are full of interesting topics that encourage energy healing to be looked upon as “normal” and not something that is “weird”!

My vision for the future is that medical doctors’ surgeries will be staffed with many different practitioners, skilled in both allopathic medicine and complementary therapies.

Imagine going to your M.D. with say stress and anxiety, and instead of them reaching for their prescription pad, they suggest you go into the next room and join a meditation group or yoga class. Perhaps you have pain in a joint and instead of an injection to suppress the pain, you go into another room and see an acupuncturist who spends an hour with you looking at what caused it and then using their skills, they release the blockage to allow your energy to flow properly - and the pain goes away for good.

Maybe someone with cancer sees a healer who helps them release an emotional blockage from some years ago - which in turn allows their body to heal itself and the cancer goes away.

I know this is not a new concept, but we know here in the U.S. the health system is broken, so why not take a completely new approach to ensuring that patients are offered choices that resonate with what they believe in?  If they need surgery then absolutely have surgery - for sure allopathic medicine is amazing in many areas of health care, but not in all situations.

Whilst we often hear them say “We can cure that” - but are we really “healing that” whatever “that” is?

If you have an abscess and the doctor says we will cut that out and we will cure you. But if we have not looked as to why we had the abscess in the first place, cutting it out may not have healed you. It may well come back.

So, as we go through the changes in our world, the shift of energy that is bringing so many of our issues to the surface to be healed, should we have the courage to take a fresh look at the way we manage our health?

There is an old saying that may resonate with you - “For those who understand, no exclamation is necessary - for those who do not understand, no amount of explaining will be sufficient”

If you feel drawn to discovering if you have a healing gift - spend just a few minutes, watching this short video - it may be a changing moment in your life!
