Don’t leave it till later to tell someone that you love them
Don’t leave it till later
to tell someone that
you love them
Life has a way of convincing us that there will always be another opportunity. Another phone call. Another visit. Another chance to say the words that are in our hearts. Yet one of the greatest lessons life teaches is that tomorrow is never guaranteed.
Many of us carry unspoken affection for family members, friends, mentors, and even people with whom we have shared difficult journeys. We assume they already know how much they mean to us. While that may be true, there is something profoundly powerful about hearing the words, “I love you,” “I appreciate you,” or “You have made a difference in my life.”
From a spiritual perspective, love is one of the greatest gifts we are given and one of the most important gifts we can share. Love is not merely an emotion; it is an expression of the divine within us. It connects hearts, heals wounds, and reminds us that we are all part of something greater than ourselves.
Too often, pride, busyness, or fear hold us back. We worry that expressing our feelings might feel awkward or unnecessary. Yet when we look back on our lives, we rarely regret the kind words we spoke. More often, we regret the words left unsaid.
There is a saying that people may forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel. A simple message, a handwritten note, or a heartfelt conversation can become a treasured memory. For someone who is lonely, struggling, or facing uncertainty, your expression of love may arrive as an answer to a prayer.
The truth is that every relationship is a gift entrusted to us for a season. Some last a lifetime; others are shorter than we expect. The spiritual challenge is to cherish them while we can. Rather than waiting for a special occasion, let today be the occasion.
Take a moment to think of someone who has touched your life. Reach out to them. Tell them what they mean to you. Thank them for their kindness, support, friendship, or sacrifice. Let them hear the words while they can still receive them.
Love was never meant to be stored away for a later date. It was meant to be shared freely and generously. And when we do, we not only bless others—we enrich our own souls as well.
Remember – no one can extinguish the light that shines within each one of us.
Try it and see!
Love & Light
